Pavas airport (San Jose) to Xandari $33 for transportation

Xandari offers free transportation to the San Jose airport but charges $33 from Pavas. Should we book that service through Xandari or can we just hire a taxi for that amount or less?

Thanks
We leave next Sat. Can't wait

You may be able to get less just booking a taxi when you land, there will be plenty offering their services. The driver I used to go to Xandari charged $40, but that was a pick-up, stop in Rohrmoser for atm and coffee at the grocery store, plus another 40 minute stop at a souvenir store. Have a great time!

We used Xandari's driver and he was fantastic. Very nice man, good English. Clean comfortable vehicle. Personally, I'd go with them rather than take chances with a taxi.

We used their driver just because it was easy - he was very nice and the van was comfy. Free one way and $16 the other way to SJO for anyone else who is interested.

There are so many taxis at the airport. I have found hotel transfers to often be a bit inflated.
