Panama driver

We just returned from Panama and used Roberto Cedeno (517-642-9954) as our driver and guide in the city of Panama. We saw the old city ruins, a nice craft market there with people working on their art, the old town and the Canal Museum there, Miraflores Locks, and the causeway...all in a day. Roberto was absolutely great. We hired him to take us shopping the next day and he took us to and from the airport. ´Highly recommended. Got his name from The Bristol.

Please advise what Roberto charges for the day. We would like to possibly use him from 10A until 6:00P. Thank you.

I also tried the phone number you provided for Roberto and the number is not correct. I even tried using the correct Panama City country code of 507 and the number does not work. Please ensure this is the correct phone number.

I would just comment that because taxis are so inexpensive in Panama (typically US$2 to $3 or $4 nearly anywhere in the city, although to Miraflores will be US$10) and because there are so many of them, you don't really need to hire a car and driver. Just walk a few steps away from your hotel (the taxis that primarily service the hotels charge three or four times the regular amount) and flag down a taxi. I visited all the places mentioned by Nelle by taxi.

It is true that most taxi drivers don't speak English, and some may not be familiar with certain locations -- several of the taxis I used had to stop at the IPAT kiosk for directions.

In my opinion is not a fair comparison because is not the same pay for a simple transfer to X place that hire a personal guide or assistant feeding your mind you with interesting information about your destination or culture of the area.

In some cases worth it pay additional $25 to going straight and count with a support than going alone to nobody knows.

good lucks,

The correct phone number would be (507) 6642- 9954.
