Thanks for the report Otis, I was trying to decide between Montezuma and Manuel Antonio for our trip (we chose MA and loved it), but I'm considering a different beach locale for our next trip to CR.
HAve you been to other beach resorts in CR? Which one(s) and how did Montezuma compare?
Thanks!

Stayed at Amor de Mar recently too. A simply fabulous place. Across the street (at the back) is the trail to the water falls. The tide pool (essentially the same size as a smallswimming pool) carved in the rock was great. There were always a few colorful tropical fish in it when I was there.
Playa des los Artistas was a great restaurant. Right on the beach overlooking the water. We also ate luch at a small place a couple of hundred yards down the road to the south across from the first sand beach. It seems to be Italian run as the boss was speaking to many of the guests in Italian. It was a very good reasonable restaurant, not too many tables though. I had a whole stuffed squid, which was really great.
I had all of these plans about visiting the National Park to the south but, when it came down to it, it was a great place to relax with some nice things today and I decided not to complicate things.
