Hi Percy,

Thanks for pointing out the DK books. We're not going back to Costa Rica anytime soon, but thanks to you extolling their virtues, I did pick up the one about Milan & the Italian Lakes. (That's the trip I'm planning now . )

Aside from the fodorites "word of mouth" comments, I was also unimpressed with the Fodor's CR guide. I really don't like how they lump the lodging and restaurants together. (Okay, I'll shut up now, since Big Brother is hovering with his delete button).

Have you been in touch with Oscar lately? Tell him we say hello!

Ivk, loved your reference to "big brother"--made me smile. Also the fact that it is Friday!

Yes, Percy, we have had such unseasonably warm weather--it's gotta be global warming so can't rejoice too much! As a matter of fact, I was just out of the building at noon today and it is beautiful outside again.

I'll be looking for the snow--I remember what a genius you are with weather. . .

Have a good weekend, everyone!

Hi Ivk:

I agree about the Fodors 2006 Book.

I stood in Chapters ( large book store)and browsed it for a good hour ,making sure Iread all the Fodorite comments, which I ejoyed and could remember when most of then were originally stated.

I have the 2003 Edition of "Fodors's Exploring Costa Rica and every picture is colored and the maps are good for each section.

My personal opinion was that the latest edition did not offer anything new to me.

But I have always liked the DK series and their format.

Ivk when are you going to Italy?

Oscar and I exchanged e-mails a few months ago.
I will pass along a hello from you on my next contact with him.

shillmac :

I know you people have good weather almost year round there.

I have a nephew in Broken Arrow ( in Tulsa), thye moved there to get away from the cold winter climate here.!
Have a nice weekend.

Percy

Hi again Percy,

We're going to Italy (and Germany) next August. We'll visit family near Munich and make the drive down to Lago Maggiore. DH's friend has a villa on the Lake, and has been inviting us there for several years now. We're finally taking him up on it.

Ivk:

That is just super that you are doing Italy and Germany.

I wish I had friends in far away places so I could visit.

How nice that you will be there in August, during the most lovely weather time.

Now that you ask....yes I am a bit jealous !!

I will be talking to you again ( via this Forum ) before you leave,I am sure.

Just terrific to be going there.

Take Care
Percy
