Shillmac's new digs in Costa Rica

Hey Shillmac,

Just back from three weeks in Costa Rica and am now officially the first Fodorite to visit your new property while staying at Rancho Naturalista! Rancho owner Kathy took us down to the new lodge, stopping by your lot so I could take some photos. As you suspected, it appears that no work has been done in a few months other than weeds growing like mad. I took photos for you, have 1100 total to edit and am hoping to pick up my computer from the repair shop when I leave work today. Will send photos when I can.

Hoping for a trip report this weekend, so many fun adventures during my three weeks, wish I could have stayed for three more! Saw 22 species of hummingbirds last week, 15 of them new for me, so I was on cloud nine.

Enrique was so happy with his support socks, said "muchas gracias." I'm missing my howler monkey wake-up calls each morning that I had at Selva Verde this weekend. Back to reality - darn....

Maybe we can all go have a ground breaking party to get the foundation up - the sooner Shillmac gets settled, the sooner she can organize a GTG, right?!

Funny. ;-)

Where is shillmac? I've been without internet for a couple days. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, for those of you who partake.

shillmac is in Costa Rica, under a Palm Tree sipping a cool Imperial.

She is wearing a T- shirt that reads "Please don't Disturb "

You guys are hilarious. Could have done without the tighty whitey image.

Would love to host a get-together someday!

Geez, do I WANT to see those pictures? Yes, please, everyone pitch in. We can use all the help we can get! Getting things done (especially when you aren't there) is NOT a piece of cake. Still working on building permits. Anxious to get down there Dec. 25.

Thanks so much Colibri, for taking the socks to Enrique. Great staff there, huh? Kathy is a dear. Will be looking forward to photos. . .I think!

So glad you had a great time. . .for sure, Savegre and Rancho are hummingbirders paradise. Did you see the snowcap? What did you think of Cali and Herman. Aren't they great?

Hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving. We were buuuussssssyyy! Lots of cooking and family--and general confusion and fun.

Shillmac - just sent five photos to your gmail account, am swamped at work, still no computer at home and going crazy!!

We loved Herman, spent lots of time with him. Never met Cali, the other guide was Chris, but since we were the only guests Herman took care of the five of us. Kathy has pulled some of the staff and has them working at the new house.

Saw the snowcap bathing in the pools and up at the vervain near the house along with 12 other species of hummers - what a place!! I have LOTS of photos to edit as you can imagine....still working on a trip report..someday...
