Need help with a mailing address for Argentina

Hi all.

I would like to know if anyone can help me...I am trying to mail a letter to my god father in Buenos Aries, the address I have is as follows:

Mr. *** *******
Gral Guemes
Martin Migues De 3646 3A
Capital Federal Ciudad de Buenos Aries

Stamps.com does not like this street address and it telling me it is all wrong...can anyone help me who is familiar with this area of Buenos Aries? Any help would be appreciated. I have tried to do a search via Yahoo and Google but with very little luck.

Thanks.

I donīt know where that is, but it looks as if it should be:

Gral. Martín Miguel de Güemes 3646
3rd. Floor
Apartment "A"
C1425BKP Capital Federal
Argentina

I even looked up your zip code in http://www.correoargentino.com.ar/co.../cons_capi.php

How's that for service? Say hi to your godfather for me, will you? LOL!!

Wow! thanks avrooster! do I need to put Buenos Aires on it anywhere? Or will it still get where it needs to go without it?

Thank you again soooo much!

You can do it this way, but it is not necessary, because the Capital Federal and the Ciudad de Buenos Aires are the same thing.

Gral. Martín Miguel de Güemes 3646
3rd. Floor
Apartment "A"
C1425BKP Capital Federal - Ciudad de Buenos Aires
Argentina

AV is so incredibly helpful. Applause!!!

So they use Spanglish in the mail system in Argentina? 3rd Floor, Apartment A?

Danasgirl, do not put anything of value in your letter. It might vanish before it arrives. Use Fed Ex to send anything of monetary value.

Dr.! Idolo!

Could you share with me your infinite wisdom (LOL!!!) and tell me why "3rd Floor, Apartment A" is considered Spanglish (according to you)?

danasgirl: the Dr.'s advice about not putting "anything of value in your letter" is wise. Do as he says.

Well, the address is partially in Spanish and partially in English

Gral. Martín Miguel de Güemes 3646 español
3rd. Floor ingles
Apartment "A" ingles
C1425BKP Capital Federal - Ciudad de Buenos Aires español
Argentina

Entiendes?

The infinitely wise Dr. said in his post of today at 9:58 am:

"So they use Spanglish in the mail system in Argentina? 3rd Floor, Apartment A?"

Therefore, I most reasonably assumed he meant that "3rd Floor, Apartment A" was Spanglish and I asked him to explain why he believed that?

Now he says that the name of the street and the name of our town is in Spanish and obviously it is. Being proper nouns, in a Spanish-speaking country, they are in Spanish.

Do you think danasgirl letter will arrive if she sends it to Good Airs (Buenos Aires in English)?

Besides "entiendes" is not used here. Entendés tordo? ("tordo" is "porteño" slang for "doctor&quot.

Not to worry, fellow forum members, we are just kidding. LOL!!!

HI again. You guys jabbing at each other makes me laugh!! I can tell it is all in good fun.

There is nothing of monetary value in the envelope although I did not mail it FedEx, I just used United States Postal Service.

The story is... I think I may have found my long lost godfather...My parents lost touch with my godmother & father about 30 years ago. Recently my mom gave me a bag filled with old letters and photos of my parents and godparents. I used that information to try to find my godfather through the internet. (I could not find any trace of my godmother via the internet, either she is deceased or they divorced) So, in the package I sent there are copies of the old letters, some color copies of the photos my mom gave me and some current photos of me and my mom. Also a letter from me explaining who I am and why I am writing to him.

I am just hoping that the address I have is correct and that it belongs to my godfather. We'll see. He may not even remember me, I was about 4 or 5 years old when they lost touch.

But thank you for all of your help with the address. I will let you know if I recieve a response from him.
