where to buy a riding crop in Argentina? (other horse questions too - while in South America)
Hi
I am interested in buying a nice riding crop while in BA. (or Sao Paulo, but preferably BA). any suggestions?
I just found out I am missing a rodeo going on in Sao Paulo right now. does anyone know where I might find out more about horse-related events in either BA or Sao Paulo, or Lima for that matter? riding, shows, stables to visit, polo matches, etc etc.
thank you so much...

I do not have La Martina phone number at the moment but I will find out. Please, enter: www.lamartina.com. I think I can give you more info about horses but I have to confirm before doing so.

In San Isidro, just outside of Buenos Aires, there is horse racing tomorrow the 17th of September and on the 19th at Hipodromo San Isidro. You take a commuter rail to get there.
In Palermo, an area of B.A. there is racing at Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo on Saturday the 20th and on Monday the 22nd. This is a quick, inexpensive, taxi ride from Recoleta or Congreso.
I believe all of the racing would start in the early afternoon. You can get close to the horses when they are in the walking ring and winner's circle. I recommend going to Palermo, at least, because it is so convenient. You should see it on your flight into EZE.

For the record, here are the websites:

There is a 3rd track called La Plata, but I did not visit there.
