Need Help and Lots of It
Am planning to go to arenal and Manuel Antonio for a 7 night trip. Any information on hotels and sights would be much appreciated. I have been reading all posts and have found some wonderful information.
It's a family vacation with my two sons. Someone mentioned Quepos, which I guess is in the Manuel Antonio proximity.
Thanks for any and all input..

You can glean a lot of information from visiting websites for each of these locations, but between the two, you will find just about everything you can imagine to do and enjoy.
Arenal: Cano Negro Tour, hiking the volcano, hot thermal springs, canopy tour, Hanging Bridges, waterfalls, Lake Arenal, the town of La Fortuna, and the list goes on. Arenal Paraiso, Lost Iguana, and Montana de Fuego have been mentioned as good hotels. The lava flow, should you get lucky enough to see it, can be viewed up close and personal from AP and MdF--not sure about LI. Tabacon resort gets mixed reviews, but Tabacon Hot Springs is a don't miss, in my opinion--hotel guests get free admittance.
Manuel Antonio: nice beaches, wonderful national park (get a guide--they can show you SO much), kayaking, Finca Valmy horseback, river rafting (on the Naranjo, I think), lots of excellent restaurants.
I'm sure others can add more specifics, but these two locations sum up the country really well!

3 in Arenal & 4 in MA is perfect. In Arenal go with Lost Iguana. You have a good view of volcano, especially since LI is located up a hill and overlooks the lake. Tabacon is nice because hot springs are included with stay, otherwise, like staying in a Holiday Inn. Do a volcano hike, hanging bridges and maybe La Fortuna Falls. Canopy tours are many, but suggest the one listed below near MA
In MA, lot's of choices. Higher end suggest Si Como No & Tulemar. Check into the rioSPArasio Canopy/Horseback tour done by Gaialink tours. Many say the best canopy tour in all of CR. By all means, do MA Park. Just take a cab on down to park and hire a guide on your own. They hang around the admission booth. 1/2 the cost than doing through your hotel as a formal tour. Quepos and MA are next to each other, just a couple of miles apart
