Costa Verde in MA- A/C Needed in July/August?
We decided to stay at Costa Verde, but now need to choose a room. We like the idea of the larger rooms and views from the adult building at Costa Verde II, but we would be giving up A/C in July/August. I don't like my room to be cold, but I don't want to sweat all night either. Should we opt for the regular rooms with A/C at this time of the year?

It's a toss up. I was there in June of last year & could not get my AC off "freezing" so I turned it off & was fine. (note - I'm from FL & am always cold so that my colour my view). I don't how much hotter July/Aug is to June. You can get incredible views in a studio plus room w/AC, just ask for bldg B.

Hi,
You guys are comparing summer to winter here.
Neither of which actually have anything to do with hot or cold in Costa Rica.
Manuel Antonio is hot. In our summer, which is December-April, it can be hot but less humid. That is because there are less rains during the summer. In some areas of the country, no rain at all. (this year is a bit of an exception.)
For all of the guests that I book in Manuel Antonio, I request air. I have indeed had some people come and stay in their room because they were too hot. They were from very northern places and not use to heat at all.
Just before the rains.... May - November, our winter, it gets pretty steamy and muggy. July-August has a little Indian Summer and a bit of relief from the humidity and afternoon rains.
Almost all rooms that do not have air, have fans. Open breezes from the ocean at night make it very pleasant.
I personally, can not get cold. That is why I live here. No fan, no air, nothing.... and every time I go to M.A. its very HOT.
I vote for the A/C.

We stayed at Costa Verde in February and were very glad to have the A/C in the afternoon. We did turn it off at night to listen to the surf - we were quite comfortable with the fan. I would get A/C again, it is very hot there. We had a studio-plus room in building B. It was beautiful. You can go to the pool in the adult-only building and catch the sunset, otherwise, B was a great place to stay.

Thanks for all the info. I think we will opt for the A/C. I guess it is better to have it and be able to turn it off than to not have it at all. We will go for the Studio Plus and request building B.
