Need a reccommendation for a shuttle company

I've used Interbus before but they have not responded to my emails for a reservation. I will be traveling to Costa Rica in January and I'm afraid if I wait too much longer the shuttles will all be full! I will be traveling with 3 other people and we need a shuttle that runs from San Jose to Monteverde, Monteverde to Liberia, Liberia to Montezuma, and Montezuma back to San Jose.

Any suggestions of reliable companies would be much appreciated!

Have you thought about just hiring a private driver? That's what we did, and it worked out great for us. We always book them through our hotels.

You could try Grayline or Vantrans (I believe Vantrans is just private). Suprised they haven't even responded to e-mails (I know they have site problems sometimes). True though for the cost of 4 people on Interbus it will be around the same price as private driver.

I second the van & driver. It's inexpensive and very accomodating. We have used Wilson Rojas 2x's and he is a great guy, very reliable and super helpful.

You can email him to get a quote on cost.

Have a great time!

Well, I still have not heard back from Interbus and seems like you guys are right about the cost of private transportation. I sent out an email to Wilson but it came back that it wasn't a valid email address. Any body else have recommendations for a private driver? Thanks so much - I am eager to get this reserved!

This is the email that I have for him:
[email protected]

We did not go with a driver, but he comes highly recommended here in this forum and I have exchanged very nice emails with him.

Sorry if I gave outdated information.

In addition to the other email given by tkmg23, here is another email to try for Wilson:

The wilson_elsy e-mail address is probably the best - not sure the other one mentioned here is still working. We spent a day with Wilson last week (MA to Peace Lodge) and he is wonderful. You probably should make arrangements soon since you have four different legs to arrange.

So we are going to reserve the first leg of the trip with Wilson - San Jose to Monteverde. Thanks to everyone with the suggestions and the correct email! As for the other legs of the trip - Wilson is booked. He said he could recommend other drivers but I'm a little weary of this. Does anyone know if he works for a company or is this all independent work?

We met Wilson when he was the manager at the Hotel Buena Vista in Alajuela.

He drove us while we were at the hotel and mentioned in a year or two he was going to try to start his own travel service. That was in 2003. He's no longer with the hotel. That is why I gave the wrong email address at first. That was his old website.
Here is the current one: www.costaricagreenadventure.com

We've used him for 2 different trips.
His wife Elsy does a lot of the hotel bookings etc.

I would feel very comfortable going with any of his recommendations for other drivers, hotels etc.

We're going back to CR in Jan. but out of Wilson's range (Osa Peninsula) But, we're going to try to see him as we go through San Jose. He & his wife are lovely people.

Costa Rica & the people there are special.
