Must sees in Zihuatenejo/Ixtapa?

We will be honeymooning in Zihuatenejo, and I was wondering if anyone had any "must sees/dos"? Any favorite restaurants, activities or day trips? Any information or suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you.

Hank has a good idea about fishing, but if that doesn't appeal try a trip on the water anyway.
so many people go to Mexican beach towns and never discover 'the other side' of life-the sea.
even a during 2-3 hr trip along the shore you're likely to see shoals of baitfish shimmering, possibly turtles, huge flocks of wheeling&nesting birds, esp. at the White Rocks, south of Zihua, dolphns always a possibility.
north of Ixtapat here's the wonderful wild surf on the beaches, great photo ops.
just go down to the town dock and ask a 'pangero' about going, should be about $20/hr.
and yes the pangas have toilets, radios&compasses, even PFD's if you want but they aren't really necessary.(IMO)
from a small boat you'll get a real feel for the environment,it's something you have to experience to appreciate.
for your other Q's post on the board at www.zihuatanejo-ixtapa.com.mx.
We were there for 2 weeks in February 1999 and liked it very much. There's lots of good restaurants (Sirena Gorda, Emilio's, Casa Vieja, Kaukan, Bay Club are some that I remember - we ate at a couple of them more than once). We enjoyed snorkeling at Isla Ixtapa and Playa las Gatas (although it's not nearly as good as the Yucatan, it was still fun). We hiked over to Playa las Gatas from Playa la Ropa (which wasn't an easy walk along the shore) and then took a boat back to town (then a cab back to where we were staying in Playa la Ropa). Another place which you might want to check out is Casa Cuitlateca. It's a small B&B type place - incredibly gorgeous, high on the hill above Kaukan restaurant. You can go there for a drink and enjoy the sunset (maybe dinner as well). I also went for a massage on the beach 3 times - there were people who set up canopies along Playa la Ropa who offered massage - $10 US for 45 minutes. (You can probably get the same at some of the hotels, but for a lot more money.) I loved it! We also had lunch at the hotel across the bay - I never remember the name of the place, but it was really lovely and nice to see Zihuatanejo from the other side. Have fun!

Does anyone have input on the weather in the summer months? You will love Zihua, or so I have heard.

Just got back from our second trip to Zihuat - you will love it! An absolute mandatory stop for any romantic couple is a dinner at Villa de la Selva in Ixtapa. It's the only reason to go to Ixtapa (only 7 minutes from Z). Make a reservation as soon as you get to Mexico or try online, arrive about 30 minutes before sunset. I will never forget this dinner the rest of my life. Incredible foot, service, and the most romantic atmosphere in the entire world! Emal me for more info

Does anyone know what the weather is like in Zihuantenejo in end of August beginning of September? My fiance and I want to honeymoon there -- but I want to make sure it won't be raining all the time...

Don't pass up dinner at La Casa que Canta. Stunning locale and great food. Super romantic. Also, Villa del Sol (on Playa la Ropa) has a terrific tipico Mexican buffet on Friday nights. Non inexpensive but entirely wonderful.
