melia playa conchal beach resort
we are going to this resort Jan 2003 for two weeks. Any comments on this resort, and, does anybody know of what day tours are available to take from this resort? Enjoying this resort for one week, and then plan to take excursions. This is our first trip to CR.
Brenda

Brenda:

We actually we were considering this resort when we went in 3/02. It was a little higher than what we wanted to pay, so we opted with another resort which was all inclusive. At that time, the Melia wasn't all inclusive, but I hear it is now. I have heard excellent things about this resort--very nice, good food, ect. I think there's a golf course attached to the resort, which was also one of the reasons we were turned off by it. Seems as though we have to put up with enough of that in the States, plus who goes to Costa Rica to GOLF???!!! There's too much else to do! Sorry, I got carried away with my anti-golf ideas! Anyway, I know a local person who recently went there with his family. Drop me an e-mail and I can give you the address of the CR web site he mediates. He's a very nice man and I'm sure would be happy to give you info. He helped me out with a lot prior to our trip. Hope this helps!!

Tia

We were there before it was an all-inclusive. There was an optional food plan which worked out as we found s wonderful little restaurant on the beach.. I can't say enough for this resort, especially i your flying in Liberia.. i would go again in a heart beat if they were going directly from Boston. If you would like to see pictures please write...have had many inquiries about the resort this year. One of the tours you might take and we missed was going to see the turtles laying their eggs at night..and a rafting trip.. We went for a tour of a dry tropical jungle where we awe lots of trees, working ants, a coral snake and a few butterflies..lol Grounds are gorgeous qwith orchids ansd hummingbirds along the golf course...and of course the monkeys which you avoid like the plague near the pool and the fun sign of watching out for the alligators on the walking pasth..lol the pool is to die for with lots of shade and it is he biggest one I've ever seen

I'm trying to find info on this resort, so to Parrot Mom, I'd love to see some pictures, and to Tia, I'd love to have that web address. ([email protected])
