I am traveling to Riviera Maya in the middle of April for my honeymoon - where should I stay? I am looking for a great long beach with great water and good snorkeling. I am looking for a great AI with an ocean view room. Please give me some advice. Things I want to do while I am there is snorkel, day trip to Cozomel, Mayan Ruin trip, eco park trip and trip to Cancun, so resort location should be withing good proximity to all this. Please help if you can and give as much detail about resorts as possible! There are so many to choose from!<BR><BR>I looked into the Adventura Spa but there doesn't really seem to be a real beach in which you can go out and swim directly in the water - it looks like it is a protected beach - anyway please help if you can!<BR><BR>

Hi Shane,<BR><BR>We stayed at the Adventura/Spa Palace for our honeymoon in November and loved it. Your right, there isn't a long white sand beach, however, we were able to use the beach at the Xpu-Ha Palace. Its about a 5 minute cab ride from the ASP. I don't think (but i could be wrong if somebody wants to correct me) there are too many &quot;great&quot; beaches in Mayan Riviera. If you want to get the crystal blue waters that much of Mexico is known for, you'll either need to go south to Playa del Carmen or north to Cancun's 'hotel zone'.

Thanks for correcting me....<BR><BR>we stayed in Puerto Morelos (where the beaches are NOT &quot;the crystal blue waters...&quot and was told that Puerto Morelos was part of the Mayan Riviera. Could you tell me if Puerto Morelos is indeed part of the Mayan Riviera, and if not, what part of Mexico is it considered part of? &lt;thanks&gt;<BR><BR>The beaches in Puerto Morelos were not great due to the reef that allows for a lot of sea grass in the water, but we're ready to return again as we had one of the best vacations!!! We enjoyed the slow and laid back atmosphere of the area.

Hi,<BR>If you are looking for an ocean front room several hotels in this area now offer them. the Gala resort, The Iberostar and the Riu Palace all offer ocean front rooms. BARCELO MAYA 100%. My husband and I stayed there on our honeymoon and the beach is gorgeous. We thought it was the best of both worlds: surronded by beauty and tranquil blue waters, long white sand beach and amazing pools with jacuzzis, and close enough to the action of Playa del Carmen and Cancun. You can take a cab to Playa del Carmen for $10 US or rent a car for they day from the hotel. The rooms are huge and their clean, the food was good and the staff were extra friendly. You won't regret it.

We are going to Xpuha in march with our two boys ages 14 and 17 Does it look pretty interesting? I know you stayed at the Ventura spa but you said you went to the beach at Xpuha Thanks
