The Casa Magna Marriott in Puerto Vallarta is very nice. It fits what you describe & the weather would be great in PV those months.

I agree with Suze I have been to the one in Puerto Vallarta and also the one in Cancun, I loved bith however you would have much better weather in P.V. It usually only rains during the rainy season, I have always had beautiful Sunny days. Good Luck

Thanks. The one in PV does look nicer. However alot of posts say the beach is nothing special. Is this true?

The beach isn't great, but the pool area is very nice. Really the Pacific coast isn't the same as you will find on the Gulf side.

It's also a short walk to the Marina with lots of restaurants to choose from. That property has also just been renovated.

Can't compare the beaches in P.V. to the beaches in Cancun, however having been to both I still would choose P.V. The Marriott is right on the beach and being a beach person I didn't mind the pool at all. Beleive me it's worth a try. Go and Enjoy.

Correct, the beaches are nothing special anywhere along that stretch of coast. It's not the Caribbean.

But Vallarta has *so* much more to offer than that (welcoming friendly local people, beautiful weather in the months you mention, loads of great restaurants, interesting shopping and art galleries, all range of tours and activities.

If you choose Cancun, I'd try to get the JW...its gorgeous. Its next door to the "regular" Marriott...both very nice. Never been to PV; can't compare, but we like the crystal clear water of Cancun.

You could also check out the new JW Marriott in Costa Rica; we just returned & it is also gorgeous. It is on the Pacific coast, about 1 hour from Liberia airport.

Rattravelers:

Can you tell us more about your stay at the new JW Marriott in Guanacaste?

That is somewhere I'm interested in visiting (and it's much cheaper than the Four Seasons in that area, which is supposed to be out of this world).
