Mail service in Riveria Maya

Anyone familiar with the postal service in the Riveria Maya. ( I heard the existing service is really slow) I will be on a working vacation and will need to send and receive letters etc. Is there a delivery service available ie, FedEx, UPS etc.?

The postal system is very unreliable--the locals don't use it at all. Several companies are available such as FedEx and Airborne. They have offices in Cancun but not certain how extensive other coverage is--probably spotty at best.

Of course, I agree with Playa Maya and , as I said, the postal system is unreliable and the locals don't use it!
Believe that was pretty clear!
Mailboxes is a good suggestion. I also use Estafeta (a Mexican courier company) with good results if shipping within Mexico.
Hope you find the right service for you!
