Los Cabos or Puerto Vallarta opinions
Planning a trip for February 2006. Family trip with 12 & 14 year olds. Anyone who has been to both places would appreciate any opinions on which place is the more preferrable.
Thanks

Puerto Vallarta feels more "Mexican" to me. It has more charm, and to me, the surrounding countryside is much prettier. If you like desert, you will like the vistas of Los Cabos.
The ocean, also for the most part, is not swimmable in Cabo, very rough.
We stayed at the Camino Real (now Dreams), and it has a nice beach.

I agree with Frankie that Puerto Vallarta "feels" more Mexican. Cabo is nice but-in my opinion Puerto Vallarta has the quaintness and charm of an "old world" feel. The cobblestone streets, the Malecon, you just dont find that in Cabo.
For that age group if you go to P.V i would look into some activities for them to do. Look into Vallarta Adventures as they have the Las Caletas day trip or Canopy Tours which is a lot of fun.

Another vote for Puerto Vallarta (while I've never been to Cabo and most likely never will, have vacationed in PV 15 times to date).
Puerto Vallarta is a lovely Mexican town, along with all the tourist ammenities.
Cabo is more entirely built up for tourists.
The other big different to me is the landscape. The Baja peninsula is a desert, BIG time. PV sits on the Bay of Banderas, with mountains and lush jungles surrounding it.
