Looking for Pottery

Hello - travelling to Cancun in February - would like to purchase quality, handmade pottery from local crafters...can anyone give any advice or suggestions for the area?

Are you looking to purchase Talavera, specifically, or any kind of pottery?

Talavera is very reasonable in Delores Hildago, GTO, MX.
It gets marked up several times elsewhere.

Sorry, Dolores Hildago - I cannot spell after 40 + years of dictating.

As there is virtually no clay in the Yucatan, there is very little local pottery. Much of the Yucatan pottery comes from the town of Ticul, and I'm sure you can find it in the many shops in Cancun. You'll find lots of the talavera style from Dolores Hidalgo and the black pottery from Oaxaca
