Leaving Thursday - one question
First, thanks for everyones help, we can't wait to get there and couldn't have planned as well without the people on this board!
Question - We are leaving our rental car in Manuel Antonio and flying Sansa back to San Jose. Due to the 25 pound bag limit, we were wondering if there is a mart within walking distance of the airport in San Jose to get our bags of coffee as gifts to cut back on weight in Quepos? We rather do that than buy at the airport, but if it comes down to it, we'll take the hit on price at the airport.
We will do a trip report upon return (9 days) on:
Hotels
Lost Iguana (Arenal)
El Sapo Dorado (Monteverde)
Tulemar Bungalows (Manuel Antonio)
Restaurants
Arenal:
El Novillo
La Choza de Laurel
Monteverde:
Johnny's Pizza
Sophia
Restaurante de Lucia
Morphos
Manuel Antonio:
Ronny's Place
Marlin
La Lanterna
El Avion
and of course...any activities we decide upon in each spot. Thanks again!

The roads around the airport are not very pedestrian friendly. They're not designed for walking anywhere off the premises. The airport shops are more expensive, but you'll find a good selection of coffee and other souvenirs. Cafe Britt has the concession, so that's the only brand you'll find at the airport.
Have a good trip.

The only coffee you can buy at the airport is Cafe Britt. It's expensive, and in my personal opinion, the weakest, least flavorful of all the coffees. I don't know of any place you can walk to from the airport though. If you have time, I'm sure a quick cab ride will get you to a mercado.

Reserve judgment on Cafe Britt...I loved it. There is not a whole lot to buy in Costa Rica as souvineers. I will say that the gift shops at the airport have exactly the same things as all the other gift shops and the prices are essentially the same.
