Leaving for CR in 5 days!

The wife and I are leaving for our 4th trip to CR on Friday! On previous trips we've been to Tamarindo (twice), Nosara, Samara, Montezuma, Puerto Viejo (twice), Arenal. and Manuel Antonio.

We're renting a 4x4 and our tentative itinerary is:
Day 1 Arrive in Alajuela
Day 2 Dominical
Day 3-6 Puerto Jimenez
Day 7-9 Zancudo
Day 10-11 Dominical
Day 12 Jaco
Day 13-14 Montezuma
Day 14-16 Mal Pais
Day 17 Alajuela
Day 18 fly home

I'm just wondering if anybody have any suggestions or \recommendations for places to stay, eat along the way.our budget is about $60/night

Sorry I can't give any suggestions, but have a nice trip and report back. Are you flying TACA from SFO?

No suggestions but I passed many signs in Santa Teresa advertising rooms for $20-$30. There is a nice sushi place called Camelon's a little bit before/after the Super Ronnie. In PJ, I think the Cabinas Jiminez are pretty cheap.

Will be driving part of your route next June (Dominical-PJ) so will be interested in hearing on your return about the roads and any spots of interest.

Just north of Dominical, try to stay at Hacienda Baru for wildlife. Make time to walk their trails. Google for their website.

Michelle - We're flying Continental from SFO with a 3 hour layover in Houston

Tully - Cabanas Jimenez and The Palms are on our list of places to stay in PJ. I'll definitely post a trip report when i get back
