Last minute packing tips

Leaving Thursday for our first CR trip. Waterfall garden, Arenal, beach. I'm taking 2 pairs of flops and one pair of sneakers. No pants or jeans. One light wind/rain breaker. Otherwise, shorts, tees, tanks and swimsuits. Is this OK? Also, does anyone know if it's okay to vacuum seal my toilitries in my suitcase to avoid any spills? One more thing-what is good attire for the Cano Negro tour? Is this just a boat ride or is there hiking and swimming involved? It's on the top of our to do list after such great reviews but not exactly sure what it involves. Thanks!

I would wear a pair of lihtweight pants on the plane so you have at least one. You may want them for hiking or to avoid bugs or sun. Do you have a sun hat, flashlight, and lots of sunscreen? Have a great trip. We still have 6 weeks until we go.

My CA packing list is #15 on the FAQ thread of the Thorntree forum in case you're interested:

The main addition I've made to the list for this summer is a camera memory card reader. Happy trails!

I would take a pair of Keen type shoes. Flipflops may not be good for walking much. I took one pr of lightweight pants that zipped off to shorts. These came in handy when we went horseback riding.
Also make sure your shorts, t's are the type that dry quickly.
Don't know about the vacuum seal unless you can re-seal on way back .
Enjoy your trip.

I would take something open but more sturdy than only flip flops (some kind of sandals instead of the 2nd pair of flip flops). I would take one pair of lightweight pants, wearing them down on the plane.

I agree, 1 pr of flip-flops is fine but I'd make the other pr similiar to Teva's or Columbia. Agree to with 1 pr of pants, just wear on the plane, you might need them if you ride horses and it can get nippy at La Paz! I'd definitely do something with toiletries, on my trip home my small travel sized face wash exploded, luckily it was in a sealed bag with some other stuff. Have a great trip!
