Las Mananitas/Las Mañanitas —Cuernavaca dining

I've hear that this place—Las Mañanitas—is lovely and a great place to have a cocktail....is it true that the food has gone somewhat downhill? Or is it worth a visit? On that same topic ... what are the best places to go when you want a yummy, satisfying meal in Cuernavaca? Any advice would be much appreciated.... Cheers!

Yes, I'd heard it was good too, but we never made it there.

Try 1521 across from the Palace of Cortes for some very casual but good food.

It has been years since we stayed at Las Mananitas, but both the hotel and the food were simply wonderful. I hope it has not slipped, as we would like to stay thee again.

I checked on Trip Advisor, and found it still listed as number four of Cuernavaca hotels. I took the trouble to read the reviews and, though some still think it is wonderful, others who have visited before seemed to think it had slipped badly.

I think I will not visit it again, as I have really fond memories of earlier stays. Besides, the prices put me off. The room prices of close to $400 sent me into shock as well. My first stay was many, many, years ago, and I think the price was less than $25. That's really showing my age ---
