Is this a rip off?
I got a price for a honeymoon package of $4700 for 7 nights in Belize. 4 nights at Turtle Inn and 3 nights at Blancaneaux. Honestly, I would like to stay longer, but the price just seems so high. It includes most meals, transfers, some activities (which reading the site it seems like people like to book their own activities when they get there). How far is the drive from the airport to Turtle Inn and from Turtle Inn to Blancaneaux. ITs my honeymoon, so I'm looking for some luxury and beauty, but not to be ripped off. What do you think? Blancaneaux only has the honeymoon room available for 3 nights which is the end of our trip. Where would you suggest going after that for another stay for 2-3 nights? Thank you.

It's not a rip-off, but you can do it for a lot less.
First, rent a car. It's about 2 1/2 hours from the international airport to Blancaneaux and from Blancaneaux to Placencia about 3 1/2 hours. Second, buy everything a la carte -- just get a room and eat where you choose. You may want to do some tours and trips on your own and sign up for others at your hotel.
Blancaneaux and Turtle Inn are both excellent. For an upscale honeymoon, you might also look at:
Hidden Valley Inn
Lodge at Chaa Creek
Inn at Robert's Grove
Hamanasi
Kanantik
Victoria House
Mata Chica
Portofino
Chan Chich
Jaguar Paw/Coco Plum Caye
Isla Marisol
One or two of these may be closed in September, which unfortunately is peak tropical storm season in the western Caribbean.

Lan, Thank you for your response. Would you recommend not going to Belize at the time I am thinking of going (Aug 23-Sept. 4). If we went to Turtle Inn first and the Blancaneaux would you suggest going back to the beach to maybe Inn at Robert's Grove and then driving to the airport from there?
We appreciate your input.

Thats strange routing. RG is only a few miles from TI, so I would think if you want beach again, you might want to consider a different area or island. Drive from RG or TI to Belize Intl takes 3 plus hrs and is scenic and interesting. Drive from BL to TI or RG is about 4 hrs. But most people fly between these places or can drive from the Intl airport to BL (2.5 HRS). If you want to stay longer, choose something else similiar for less $, lots of great options. Or downgrade at each (you might want to make sure you get a seafront at TI because they don't have a/c). Whatever you do, all these lodges and inns you are considering are wonderful and you'll be happy with your choices. Maybe look at the tree top suites at Chaa Creek as well, which are pretty fabulous. Victoria House or Mata Chica on San Pedro as well.

Luxury Link has great prices and it is a reputable company...I've booked accomodation in Mexico, Prague, Venice and Savannah through them and been happy every time.
It's definately worth checking availability prior to bidding. As I understabd it you cannot substitute the auction package for a reservation that you are already holding.
