I just called what I thought to be Southern Winds airlines...I got the number from sw.com.ar and the woman on the phone told me that this was no longer Southern Winds, but some sort of travel booking company. She quoted me a price of $250 US per person for roundtrip from BA to Iguazu in November, but she said there were only 2 seats left on the date I'm looking for. I haven't had much time to research much else. I e-mailed WOWargentina yesterday to ask for some help but she hasn't e-mailed me back yet.
Will Cintia be able to get me a better deal or should I jump on it before it sells out??!!

I do not have the answer to your question, but I do know I would not buy anything from SW, because they are out of business or almost so.

In another thread, I gave you my travel agent's e-mail. Do you want their phone? I'm not terribly sure about how much English they know, but they are good.

I spoke with the woman on the phone again and she explained to me that Southern Winds did indeed go out of business and that she works for Southern Travel International. She said that the price she quoted me is actually on Aerolineasargentinas. So, as far as I can tell from all these posts, it sounds like it might actually be a good deal because I understood Aerolineas to be the expensive airline that only gives discounts to residents. So, if this company is selling them for $250 then I might just have to go for it.

Cintia booked our tickets at the end of May for Buenos Aires-Iguazu next March on Aerolineas Argentinas and the price per ticket was about $218 per person.

We just returned from Argentina and visited Iguazu while there. We booked Aerolineas Argentinas tickets directly by calling their toll-free number in the US (available on their website). It was very efficient -- they issued e-tickets and everything went smoothly.

Jane - We stayed at the Sheraton (booked on the website). We booked our airline tickets via phone (the Aerolineas call center number in the US). Since we'd come in overland from Brazil, we only bought one-way tickets to BA from Iguazu. Including taxes, it was about $245 per person (they upgraded us to the Club Condor business class cabin when we made the reservation since we paid something like full fare -- you might ask for this when you call to book).

The best thing to do is wait until you are there to book your airfare as the Us # for Aerolinas is too expensive. We already experienced this. We piad $100.oo per person too much by doing this. Also, would not recommend Sheraton as it is old and you not need pay the high price there when just down the road in town you can find better accomodation for half the price. There is a local bus to bring you and return you to the falls.

Depending on how long your trip is, waiting to book a flight until you get to Argentina could be risky -- especially if you are trying to go to Iguazu on a weekend (while we were there, the flights were all full).

Anybody stay at the Bourbon Cataratas? We will be at Iguazu for 4 nights and think a resort near the town might be good (one more place to go). Our other choice is Mabu. Website looks good but have no other info. Help, please, if you have been to either. We will be traveling with two kids, 6 and 9 yrs. old.

After reading a lot of the posts on this and another site decieded to let Cintia at WOW do the bookings and air for all our visit. Now they charge $100.00 to do itineray with credit if you actually book what they put together. So if you only want them to do air? Not sure what or if charging.

We requested the Sheriton found it to run down. Definitely not a four star hotel. About 30 minutes drive we saw the Iquazzu Gambling Hotel and resort. Very nice pool. Sheriton's pool was uninviting.
We also used Cintia and were very pleased.
