Want to know if it is as cheap to travel down there as I hear. Hotels for $5 US a night?

I have tried logging on to terrashare.com, but without any success. Any suggestions? Do they have a new website address?

It is a real deal, for sure. We went in 98 for a friend's wedding (Peace Corps vol married a local)...we took half the family out for a huge dinner (6-8 people) in a nice place in Cuenca - total bill around $30. People are great, scenery is beautiful, and you will have a great time. It is third-world, though, so prepare yourself for some culture (and infrastructure!) shock. Enjoy!
