p,
TAM Lineas Aereas has flights for $751.61 on those dates via www.kayak.com.
You might do better going directly to the airline site.

Hi there,
I was in the exact same situation that you are in a few weeks ago. Click on my handle to see the threads I posted about this topic.
I succeeded in gettting nonstop tickets from JFK to EZE for 840 USD. The prices fluctuate wildly (lowest I saw was 810 USD and highest I saw was 2660 USD). If you are patient (and obsessive like me) you can get the nonstop tickets for under 900. I am travelling on almost the exact same days you are.
There seem to be only 2 nonstop flights - American Airlines at 10:10pm and Aerolinas Argentias at about 6:30pm. The problem with Aerolinas Argentinas is that the flights are only on three days of the week, which obviously reduces the flexibility with which you can plan your trip. The lowest I saw Aerolinas Argentinas tix was 812 USD.
It's clearly advisable to try to get the non-stop tickets, especially since you are only travelling for about a week. Once you start entertaining the option of one-stop or two-stops, the total travel times inflates very quickly. The non-stop flight is already 10 to 11 hours!
Best of luck!
