Iguazu National Park Accomodation

Hi,

My wife and I are in Iguazu for one night in February, and would like to stay in the national park so that we could do the night walks and have more time at the falls. Ther Shearton is full. Are there any other options apart from the Brazillian hotel in the park itself? Is it a big disadvantage not staying in the park?

Thanks

We stayed at Iguazu Grand in a 750 ft 2 suite and loved it. One full day at the falls was enough for us.
Our package included transportation to/from the airport and falls.
You might get tagged with a $100. US pp visa in Brazil.

We didn't find it a disadvantage not staying closer to or in the parque. We stayed in Puerto Iguazu, only about 20-30 minutes from the airport and by local bus (very inexpensive) about the same length of time. We stayed for two nights as we were unable to get an early flight, so didn't get to the falls until the next day.

Some who have stayed at the Sheraton found it great to have a view of the falls from their room and walking distance to get to them, but felt the hotel was pretty shabby for the prices they paid. I think you'll be perfectly happy elsewhere. We certainly were.

If you exclude Brazil, there are no hotels in the park itself apart from the Sheraton.

As Giovanna says, a stay in town can be pleasant. I enjoyed my stay at the Sheraton...but I have also enjoyed my stays in town....

Thanks for all the help. We got a cancellation at the Sheraton in the end.

This forum is fantastic.
