Iguazu Falls

I am looking for restaurant suggestions for while I am in Iguazu next month. It will be my honeymoon and we would like a romantic place.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Congratulations on your marriage! You couldn't have picked a better spot for a honeymoon.

Puerto Iguazu is a small town and there are not a lot of elegant dining options. My first choice would be the Sheraton, particularly if you are staying there. Food and service are both very good and you will not be disappointed. Their harpist, who plays while you dine, is outstanding

If your hotel is in town, La Rueda <http://www.larueda1975.com/> is probably your best choice. Look at the pictures on their web site and see if it has the necessary ambiance. We ate there in April and everything was very nice. Food, service and prices were all great.

My wife had some sort of local fish that was so-so, but my filet mignon (bife de lomo) cooked medium rare ("entre jugoso y a punto&quot was superb, and a steal at 27 pesos ($9 USD) ala carte. I remember sharing a delicious, large tomato & lettuce salad with my wife. My only mistake was ordering a side order of French fries which resulted in way too much food to consume. Oh, did I mention, the steak was approximately 1 lb in weight?

We stayed at the Sheraton and ate dinner there twice. Did not think the food was that good...just okay. and the dining room itself is not particiualrly romantic. Service was good though, Lots of people milling around.

Also stayed at Sheraton at Iguazu and ate there for two days. Food was good but pricey compared to typcial Argentine rates. The buffet seemed to always be the same so always ate off the menu. The harpist was very good, but the atmosphere is hardly what I would describe as romantic. Can offer no other suggestions for restaurants, but the Iguazu Falls and Park are beautiful and well worth the trip. You should have a great time!

Let me rephrase my recommendation:

OF THE AVAILABLE OPTIONS, "My first choice would be the Sheraton...."

Yes, the food there is not cheap, compared to the local economy.

Thank you for the suggestions. We are staying at the Sheraton and I'm sure will dine there at least once. I was hoping to find a small local restaurant to go to, but maybe the town is mostly hotel business.

At the risk of being redundant, La Rueda <http://www.larueda1975.com/> is a good small, local restaurant.

The city bus from the Sheraton will let you off at the corner, not more than 100 yards away from the restaurant. The driver probably wont speak English but just mention La Rueda and he will indicate which street corner to get off. You may have to take a taxi back to the Sheraton (buses stop running at 8 or 9 P.M.), but the restaurant will be glad to call a radio taxi for you. They did for us.
