Hotels or apartment, which are safer?

Just curious if anyone has a bad experience with one or the other? I will be there and looking at the apartments because I like the fact you can get a kitchen. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Cali

as a local i think a hotel must be safer than a flat, if the hotel is in a reasonble area. If safety worries you, as it worries everybody, get an appart.
there are many apparts. Tourists dont cook here as prices in restaurants or by the delivery service are very good. Anyway it is nice to have a small kitchinette in your appart to prepare a snack when you feel hungry in the middle of the night.

I rent an apartment in a building with 24/7 security and find it quite safe, in part because it is in a great location.

As Milla notes, Aparthotels offer the best of both worlds....try artsuites.com.ar

going back to caliguy. i see now why people try to stay in apartment. the kitchen that i personally hate at home, gives you the freedom of doing what you want. Flats rented for a week tend to be pricey. they become cheaper for more than 2. There is an owner who wants to rent it directly and asks for 200 u$s dollars a week. quite low price for a very good location.
Apparts which are the ones i prefer for a fortnight are around 60 u$s taxes included a night in a wonderful area Recoleta/Retiro but yes you end up paying more .

hello dr.d, what is the contact information for the apartment you rent? that is assuming you rent it by the visit rather than ongoing.
thanks!
