hotels in oso

We want a hotel that offers hiking tours, ,night tours and is also fairly upscale. There can't be too much luxury in such an untouched beautiful environment, but if there's a range we'd like to be on the more comfortable side.
Thnx

Highly recommend Bosque del Cabo--Golfo Dulce side. Fabulous place.

Stayed at Bosque del Cabo and Lapa Rios. Lapa Rios wins hands down. If you are looking for some luxury do not look any longer, book your stay in Osa with Lapa Rios. Lapa Rios is much more upscale than Bosque del Cabo.

Having stayed at both Bosque and Lapa Rios I much prefer Bosque. The grounds are so much prettier and easier to walk around. I also prefered the individual cabinas rather than the duplex ones that Lapa Rios has. For comfort I found Bosque better. Primarily because I disliked those many many stairs to climb for every meal at LR. Lapa Rios is considered to be one of the top luxury hotels in the country. We did see a lot of neat things while making the slow climb up to our meals. The food is very good and a bit more up scale than Bosque although Bosque has just built a new restaurant/dining area and I know for a fact they are having fun with some new cookbooks. The rooms are very pretty at both. The views from LR are of the Gulf and nice. The views from Bosque are of the Pacific and the Gulf as they are right on the point. Both have had their share of movie stars etc staying there.

Either one would fit your criteria.

I am travelling to this area in June, and I found this old thread.

I am not looking for an upscale place. I would like to stay at a place simular to Montaña de Fuego(in Arenal) or Fonda Vela (In Monteverde)

Since I am planning to stay in CR for 3 weeks, I want to economize if I can. I do not want to stay at a dump but I do not need top of the line either.

Suggestions?
