My husband and I went to Cancun on our honeymoon in Sept. 01' and had a fantastic time! Tell her to stay at an all-inclusive resort. We stayed at the Royal Solaris (not listed on this site for some reason) but the service was good, several restaurants to choose from, beautiful pool area and direct access to the beach. It was great! Definately worth checking into!

I would recommend one of the Palace resorts. Here they will get the most bang for their buck. There are 7 total between Cancun and the Mayan Riviera. From now until the end of December they are running a "passport" promotion. They will receive $450.00 worth of options; such as $50.00 spa credit, golf credit, unlimited sightseeing tours, etc. These are all-inclusive resorts, and as an added bonus they will get full exchange privileges at the other Palace resorts (meaning they can eat, drink, and play at the other resorts). I am a travel agent at Superior Travel Service so e-mail me and I can give you more info on the resorts, even set up their reservation!

Just returned last night from a weeks stay at the Royal Hideaway in Playa del Carmen. It is 45 minutes from Cancun airport. It is probably the most romantic place for a honeymoon in the area. There were alot of honeymooners. It is private and secluded. There are 4 restaurants that serve gourmet meals. Dinner takes about 2 hours and you feel like you are in your own castle. I complained about the service in some of the restaurants but looking back it was because I am from New York and are always in that fast pace and needed to slow down. Look at their website. You can get a great deal at Tropicalsands.com.
