Dyer, I wish your son safe travels. We've got the wintery mix going on here as well and our son and also our daughter and granddaughter will be on the roads Wednesday as well.

So may they all arrive safely and in a festive mood for a Merry Christmas!

As for you, Faithie. . .did you hear from Lisa? Are you ready to go TOMORROW? Have yourselves the best time ever! Kids still in the dark?

Buen Viaje!

Hello, I wish your son safe travels as well Dyer. Yelapa was something, wasn't it!? This will be wonderful as well I'm sure, I'm up earlier than needed, can't sleep... We did it! The children still have no idea and we will get them up in about 1.5 hours. And Jill, I heard from Lisa, she has lots of guests arriving this week and is a bit swamped, but will make the best effort to get together, no worries. I understand what its like to be busy! Thank You Jill. Bye all, back on the 26th.

Jill and Faith (like Faith will be seeing this post for awhile!!!!!). Winter storm warning in Minn. and S.D. and my son only had rain the whole trip - your thoughts (and prayers from co-workers, etc.) worked! Thank you. He is 19 and brought his hockey bag home to get in some ice time and the Huff and Puff team called him to join them this evening. He's an old man now!!!! You all have a great Christmas. And we will be patiently awaiting you post(s) faithie. Dyer

So glad he made it home safely. Same here! Our son, youngest daughter and granddaughter got in with no problems as well. Just a little rain--roads were good. Isn't it always such a huge relief?

Now for some major relax time! As I'm sure Faithie is doing. . .

Thought about her off and on today! Amazing what a few hours on an airliner can do!

Merry Christmas!

Jill, failed to tell you last night tha I was praying for your son, daughter, granddaughter as they travelled. Prayers answered. My sister, was to leave the Sioux Falls airport today at 11:00, called at 2:30 saying the plane may leave, lots of planes stranded in Denver (my sister is traveling to her son's in Las Vegas). We fail to realize what one part of the USA can experience due to weather, we are such a large country. I am a Hospice Social Worker, so my prayer is that anyone that needs to be with a loved one that needs, them, please God, let that be able to happen. Merry Christmas, Jill, Percy, Faithie, Tully, the Suze's, Lattitude Lisa and all Fodorites. What a fun and relaxing site this Fodor's forum offers to me. Thank you. Dyer

And Merry Christmas to you as well! You're right--this board does offer a measure of relaxation, doesn't it? Allows us to imagine ourselves elsewhere for a few minutes occasionally! There're so many Pura Vida vibes on this particular board that it's usually a pretty kind place to hang out!

Hola shillmac,
The airfares at DFW/DAL are dominated by AA, but even those are slowly changing.
Unfortunately not to BJX or QRO.
And the MX taxes certainly don't help.

Hola Mikemo!

True about the DFW fares. . .speaking of that, everyone in our family who has flown AA during the past year received a 10% discount voucher for fares now through March 31. Not that it is that big of a deal, but we've never received those before. I found it interesting and wondered if they've noticed a slump in bookings during the next few months or what. . .it would seem so, wouldn't it?
