I tried to book the junior suite but they were all taken, so we have a smith. room. the confirmation email says "double smith. room, one king bed, direct view of volcano and private terrace." I assume this means we are above ground level, so no coati's visiting our stoop.
I have heard that dinner comes early in CR, so if we are by the kitchen we shouldn't have to worry about noise keeping us up at night?
I know cloud cover is a problem with the volcano- does AOL provide a "wake up service" if the clouds clear and the lava is visible? I would think that with 4 nights we'll get lucky at least once but I would hate to miss it.
should we request a specific room?
Traveler2005- I'm glad they gave you a discount too! I hope we don't get rained out the end of April. Our discount left us between high and low season pricing, which makes me feel a lot better considering how late we're going.
Now we've only got two more weekends home before the trip and my nerves are setting in. Airport, car rental, getting lost, will we have a dry day? I'll feel much better once we're checked in!

I hope we both get to see the volcano.

When we went to Alaska, we weren't so lucky with Denali.

I couldn't remember my password, so I had to re-register. Good news. We spent the last two days at the volcano and the weather was wonderful - great views.
