Help choose RCI Cancun please!

Family of 5 need to choose an RCI resort from:
Cancun Clipper Club
Club Internacional de Cancun
Club Regina Cancun at Westin
Fiesta Americana Vacation Club at Cancun
Imperial Fiesta Club at Hotel Casa Maya
Imperial las Perlas
Krystal International Vacation Club Cancun
Melia Vacation Club at Grand Melia Cancun
Royal Mayan
The Sunshine Club at Tucancun Beach

Even if you can un-recommend one, it would help us narrow down the choices. Thanks, fodor's readers: you're the best!

As a timeshare owner, I suggest you check out the Timeshare Users Group BBS @ www.tug2.net which is run by t/s owners and users. Any one can register (just like here) and ask questions..in this case in the Mexico section. As a member ($15 per year) you have access to the members only section of reviews that are done by people who have stayed there and NOT the developer, resort or RCI. You can get excellent information on that BBS about timesharing. I know, I've been a member for about 7 years. See ya over there.

I would recommend the Royal Mayan or Club International, in that order. I have owned at both and they are pioneers in the timeshare business in Cancun. Both very well run and very well maintained with excellent facilities. Royal Mayan is my first choice due to newer, larger units and the use of all facilities of sister properties located next door.
Enjoy!

I agree with RobertSDF. The Royal Mayan is by far the best of all your choices. It's on a beautiful stretch of white sand beach and is connected to the Royal Resorts' sisters: The Royal Caribbean and the Royal Islander where you can use their facilities, pools, restaurants, etc. For a family the layout of the villa is ideal with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room, dining room, and a full American kitchen. Immaculately maintained. Many planned activities for the family. Club International is on the Gulf, not the Caribbean, therefore there are no waves and the environs around the resort are not as nice and/or family friendly. TUG2 that mamajo recommends lists the Mayan, and the other sister "Royal" properties, as the one of the best in Mexico. You can see the listings without being a member of TUG. Enjoy your Cancun vacation.
