Guided day trips from San Jose?

I'll be in San Jose, Costa Rica, next week for a facelift. What kind of tour bus or other day-trip excursions might be available once I'm up to it, that wouldn't be super strenuous? I hear it's such a beautiful country; I hate that I might not get to see any of it outside my hotel room and the Clinic.

SusanN, the tour that I would highly recommend is the Costa Rica Highlight Tour (also known as 4 in 1 tour). It is a great tour that leaves from SJ, not strenous but it is a long day. It is done at a slow pace and gives you a great overview of the country.

Here is some information about it: www.crica.com/tours/ecoscape.html

Absolutely recommend the Highlights Tour. It is nothing short of excellent. Do you mind telling me who is doing your surgery? Would love to hear your review of THAT! I have done a little research into it myself (only about 25% serious) .

Hope all goes well--enjoy your time as best you can! You'll want to go back when you are pain free!

All right then, the Highlights tour it is!

It was interesting to find out that one of Costa Rica's main industries is "medical tourism", and they are one of the plastic surgery capitals of the world, with some internationally renowned surgeons. My facelift will be with Dr. Rashi Rosenstock at the Rosenstock-Lieberman Center; there is a pretty active and informative Yahoo group if you want to check it out. Feel free to contact me at hunkydory366 at yahoo dot com if you want links to additional resources. Brazil and Tijuana are other places you might want to research.

Thanks again for the tour suggestions.

Susan, thank you so much for sharing info about your MD and the clinic.
I'm hoping for first trip to CR--with costaricapackage.com-- within the year. Now I'll have another good reason for a second visit!

Thanks, Susan, for the info. I wish you the best of luck. Would love to see your before and afters! I'll bet you will be SO pleased

Have a great time on the Highlights Tour--it's a great way to spend a day--particularly if you are alone and somewhat at a loss on how to spend your time!
