I saw it under construction (almost open) and it's very decadent but it's NOT on an ocean. It sits in a lagoon that has massive cement piers for docking yachts/sailboats. The nearby golf course IS wonderful, though. Are you going to golf or a beach vacation? You'd have a better beach vacation elsewhere.

Was there on my honeymoon in July 1999-rooms were spectacular, the food exquisite (have the fish platter at the pool side restaurant!) and the golf course first-rate...real slow in summer though-I agree if you want beach this isn't it-also when you go into Barra de Navidad bring your insect repellent!

Frank

Our friends went there after we saw it under construction and said it was mainly golfers/adults type resort. I think that your kids wouldn't like it...no beach, etc. Why not try the Mayan Riviera (south of Cancun). The best family resort I've seen in that area is the Barcelo Maya Beach resort. If you want the Pacific ocean, try Puerta Vallarta or Manzanillo.
