Gala Resort in PDC???

My husband and I (ages 40 and 39) are going to PDC in 5 weeks. We wanted (actually HE wanted) an AI, so I am considering Gala Resort. Has anyone been? Does my husband need to bring a jacket and/or a tie, or will a button down shirt be sufficient?
Would appreciate hearing about your experiences! Thanks, Kim

Jacket and tie isn't necessary in most PDC AIs.

The Gala does not have a cruise type atmosphere where people dress for dinner. However, the Gala has 2 (Mexican and Italian) a la carte restaurants which require pants rather than shorts.

The resort is perfect if you like the beach and relaxing.

Food is fine at buffets, plenty of choices. The whole family loves the Italian (#1) and Mexican (#2) a la carte restaurants for dinner.

Drinks are plentiful, but if you want them strong, ask.

Went to Gala a few years ago and thought staff was very friendly and accomodating. The sit down restaurants had good food and drink, but you had to almost beg to get in, while many nights there were empty tables. Go to their table and make your reservation as soon as you arrive! The snack bar closet to the beach was a fun spot for lunch. They also had one nice bar with TV's and good atmosphere. The bikes were also funny fun to tool around town!
