FS Punta Mita Beach Question
Planning our spring trip, we ususally go to the Caribbean. We are looking into FS Punta Mita as we usually love the FS properties. We usually prefer the Caribbean to the Pacific because of the quality of the beaches and the water. It looks as though the FS Punta Mita beach may be a bit better than usual Pacific coast beaches. Can anyone tell me what the beach is like, is the water generally fairly calm, nice clean sand, swimmable ocean? Thanks for any replies.

I've spent time at El Anclote a public beach at Punta Mita, but not actually at the Four Seasons resort. It was better than the beaches downtown PV, but nothing like what I've seen on various Caribbean islands.
I know there are several Fodor's posters who HAVE stayed at the resort, hopefully they'll see your post and reply in better detail.

Hi, I will try to answer your questions. I am really a "beach" person, just love that white sand and turquoise water. However, I enjoyed the beach at FS Punta Mita very much even though it does not fit the white sand/turquoise water mode. I spent hours every day on the "quiet beach" (the long beach on the left side of the resort) and it was just lovely. The water is darker blue and the sand is not pure white, but I liked it because of the palm trees, and the rocks/cliffs in the water which made it so picturesque. It is not super calm and probably not as swimmable as other beaches but people did swim. And the entire overall package of that resort is so fantastic that even though it may not be an "ideal" beach it still gets my vote as my all-time favorite beach resort and I have been to lots, including Turks & Caicos where the water and sand are just stunning. You can walk down the beach to the golf course and for a good view of the famous golf hole in the ocean. And the beach service is just incredible. Every 15 minutes someone brings you something - evian mist, fruit kabobs, ice water, cool towels, clean your sunglasses, etc. etc. The entire setting of the resort is just spectacular. If you want to see some of my photos go to the review on tripadvisor and look at the photos from Turnersville, NJ, that's me. The photo of the infinity pool with the long winding beach in the background will give you an idea of what I am talking about.

I went into the water at FS Punta Mita Beach; there are 2 different sides, I went in on the cove side. The water was warm, a little murky, pretty calm. It was okay, but def. not the Caribbean! The time before we were in PV, my hubby got a bad jellyfish sting, so I was a bit wary and only went in once. (I was there in July.
As Eileen says, the beach service is incredible, the landscape is beautiful, and the pool is wonderful with a great view.
It's a great place with a good, not great, beach.
And...you won't find the sunsets you'll see here on the Caribbean side!
