Four Seasons Punta Mita-other dining options nearby?
Planning a trip to this special hotel but would rather not dine at the hotel every night. Is there a mall town nearby with other dining options? If so can you suggest places and how far are they from the hotel?

All of Puerto Vallarta with literally 100's of choices is about 1 hour away, back to the south. Bucerias is maybe 1/2 hour away, again back toward PV, a smaller town but offering some restaurants.
I'm not sure what you mean "mall town"? What's out that way is only other smaller fishing and beach villages.
If you go north ~1/2 hour of so you can go to the towns of Sayulita, Ricon de Guayambitos, San Pancho, etc. which surely have a few places to eat.
I don't know the name of the restaurant but read just the other day on a PV travel board that "Chef Roger" had opened a new place in Punta Mita... ask after that one. He's had several well respected places in PV over the years.

I just have to say that I am so jealous. We stayed at the Four Seasons Punta Mita last summer and it was spectacular. Make sure you try their Mango Margeritas. As far as resteraunts go there is not much close. We went into the town of Punta Mita one evening and ate at El Dorado. It is an outdoor resteraunt on the beach. The food was ok...but I think it made us a little sick. I would recommend it. I would recommend that you eat at the resort eventhough it is very expensive or take a shuttle to Peurta Vallarta. Anyways, have fun and be prepared to be pampered!!!

oh (duh to me) sorry about small towns. they are as i listed them in the first post, the ones closest to Punta Mita.
the name of the new chef roger's place is Manjana and near where the busses from PV let off (said a poster on another BB).

I stayed at the incredible Casa Las Brisas in Punta Mita, right near the Four Seasons. Every night, people from the Four Seasons were dining at our small resort that had some of the most creative cooking I have ever tasted. Casa Las Brisas is only open to outsiders for dinner, however--lunch and breakfast are for guests only.

Just got back from staying a week at Anclote condominiums in Punta Mita. There are several restaurants there that serve good, but not extravagant, food - lots of fish dishes. We never got sick. Manana, mentioned previously, is very good - great atmosphere, reasonable, with a varied menu. Margaritas is a good, locally owned restaurant that the local expats love. All the people are nice at these restaurants and will make you feel welcome. I love this town for its authentic atmosphere - nothing phony here.
