I loved www.clubelmoro.com but it is not a 5-star resort by any stretch. I'm pretty sure for that level you'll need to look in Cabo instead.
Sorry don't know if you can book the ferry from home or not.

Suze, we like the look of the hotel you suggested...may well make it our home for a few days. Thank you very much.
Cannot understand why I can't get more info on ferries...most of the sites seem to be outdated. Oh well, may have to change our plans a little.
Thanks again.

You're most welcome. The hotel is a lovely little oasis, just not a fancy one or a "resort". But it is clean, the ground are beautiful, staff is friendly, there's a nice cafe, rooms with kitchenettes available, even a swim up palapa bar (sort of). It's out on the edge of town, along the highway heading south. Across the street from the ocean. It takes about 10-15 mins. to walk into downtown.
I'm not sure what's the deal with the ferry. I never hear of anyone using it anymore, which seems odd.
