Do you pass through Jaco to MA?

I'm thinking of breaking up our stay in MA by staying 2 nights at Villa Caletas and 2 nights at Tulemar Bungalows IF we have to pass through Jaco on the way to Manuel Antonio (I heard the views from Villas Caletas were amazing, and they have Villa rooms that can comfortably accomodate the 4 of us.

The price is the same at the 2 properties.

So, How far is Villas Caletas from the San Jose Airport?

How much fruther from Villas CAletas to Tulemar in Manuel Antonio?

Thank you!

It's roughly halfway, although we've not been to Villa Caletas. Jaco is "off the highway". . you have to turn off the highway to drive to it a short distance. Not sure where VC is located outside Jaco, but it is on a hilltop. It might take you a LITTLE less time from VC to Manuel Antonio than from SJO to VC.

Thanks again Shillmac. Do you think it's worth spending our last night at VC before we fly home? It's about the same price as Tulemar (I just booked Tulemar for 3 nights, but could make it 4 and not stay at VC), but I thought it would be good to be a little closer to the airport our last night.

Our flight doesn't leave until 3:40 pm.

Yeah, you know, if you don't mind moving around, I think it's fun to stay at different hotels. It's kind of a hassle to move for just one night (especially since you could easily make the flight the next day with that late departure time from MA). I don't think you'd have time to do much but just experience a different hotel, but there's nothing wrong with that. Again, you might think of it in terms of how your husband will feel about that extra packing up and checking in experience. I'd probably do it if I really wanted to check out VC.

Also, think about (and get info on) all the activities you might enjoy in MA. Be sure you allow enough time there to do all you think you'd like to do!

Good point Shillmac. I think I'll add a day at Tulemar, the emails I get fro Villa Caletas are making me question their competance anyway.

I've sent them about 5 emails with various question and they keep responding with the exact same message, verbatim! It's actually funny, yet scary at the same time.

If you really want to do it, it is very do-able. However, I think you have made the right decision to stay at Tulemar. It just seems so much simpler, and you'll find plenty to do at Manuel Antonio. Or spend a day doing nothing! There's something about revving a trip up right at the And making an extra move that isn't necessary falls in that category!

Oops, somehow I deleted part of my message (not that it was that important). What I was saying was, "there's something about revving a trip up right at the end that is counterproductive. And adding an extra move/hotel when it isn't necessary falls into that category". Make more sense? Let's hope so!
