Directions to Arenal Paraiso

We will be driving from San Jose airport to the Arenal Paraiso next month & have had no luck getting directions from the hotel. Can anyone help me with this? We've driven to the Tabacon before & I remember a lot of signs to the area but once there I don't know where the hotel is located exactly. Thanks!

The hotel is about halfway between La Fortuna and Tabacon, on your right as you are traveling toward the volcano and Tabacon. If you come to Montana de Fuego, you've gone a bit too far. If memory serves, there is not a big sign, but something small. And there is a little gatehouse in the driveway now (near the road) where an employee checks all who enter. Just past the hotel (and also on the right) is a big mansion--recently built by the owner of AP. If you come to that, you've passed the entrance.

My last visit there was in June, and there is so much development, but these directions should get you there. It's very simple. Have a great time!

Thanks Shillmac! Do you have any restaurant suggestions? We'll only be there 2 nights & I'm assuming we'll eat at the hotel the first but would like to venture out for the second. We're traveling with 2 of my kids ages 11 & 14 who would be happy with a burger and or a bowl of pasta...nothing fancy. Any ideas?

El Novillo, down the road toward Tabacon (and on the same side as AP) is good. Also La Choza de Laurel in La Fortuna serves decent food (on your left as you drive in from AP). In fact, there are several little sodas in town that serve good food. And Don Ruffino's is a nice place as well, also in La Fortuna.
