differece between Lan and Lan peru

I'm looking at flights from LA to Lima. When I went to Lan site the list a flight on Lan airbus 340 or another flight leaving 1/2 hour later on Lan Peru 767. What's the difference in these? I also thought Lan was a good airline from travel guides but went to a website reviewing them and almost every review said most of the planes were old and they wouldn't fly this line again. Any advice on this. Thanks for any and all help.

We recently flew LAN from Miami to Lima and loved it. The seats were comfortable, we got a full meal, even leaving at midnight. Soda, beer and wine were free. We had movies, games, music..... whatever we chose on a screen on the back of the seat in front of us. We also got ear plugs and eye shades for the late flight. Great experience, both ways. Put the American airlines to shame.

As far as I know the two names are used interchangeably.

Enjoy your trip. When are you planning to go, for how long?

LAN across the Pacific isn't great but internal to SA I found they were great. They don't stand up well to a comparison with Singapore Airlines or QANTAS, but compared to American Airlines and Continental they are miles ahead.

Lan Peru is a division of Chile's LAN, as are LAN Argentina and LAN Ecaudor. Same company, same great service. I'd have no qualms about flying with them.

Thanks for info. However I'm still confused as why one is listed as a Lan flight and other is listed as a Lan Peru flight and they leave within 1/2 hour of each other?

I flew Lan Peru from Lima to LA in June and it was great. The plane was new and very nice. The food and service were excellent.
