Deb - I know the kind of girl you are. We went to the Cook Islands last year and I packed my own refried beans, corn tortillas and oat bran (just to name a few things). I had one suitcase full of food and let me tell you how happy we were when we landed on a Sunday after a 12 hour flight from LAX and every place in town was closed for church services but I had FOOD!
I had some of that Coca Cola Light on a plane not too long ago, and could not get enough of it. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT. Just the thought of this being the beverage served in CR is making my mouth water. I'm a huge Diet Coke drinker and go different places depending on how good the drink comes from the fountain. I think you'll like this Coca Cola Light!

Personally I think one of the great joys of traveling is to do away with my usual tastes and try things that are new. So maybe I won't like them as well, but who cares. Travel should be an adventure, not a test to make sure nothing is out of the ordinary routine of life.

Patrick, I like the adventure of trying new foods but not the constipation or diarrhea that goes with it. Too much information? LOL!
We always eat out for dinner but I try to temper that with food are stomachs are used to for breakfast and lunch. We also save alot of money by having a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast instead of buying at a restaurant. It adds up with a big family.
Auntylynne, my food packing list is increasing daily. I try to make it mostly low space food.
No boxes, just ziploc bags.
