<b>volcanogirl:</b> Yes I'm hoping I get major points with my husband! This is a short trip for us...so Bosque del Cabo is the highlight. We will fly San Diego to San Jose, spend 1 night in a hotel, then fly down to Bosque del Cabo for 5 nights...then fly back to San Jose for 2 final nights. Then fly home. I am considering Hotel bougainvillea maybe which I stayed at once before and its in Santo Tomas de Santo Domingo de Heredia (if I recall correctly)...about a 15 or 20 minute drive from the San Jose airport in Alajuela.

So...since our final 2 nights will be at a hotel near Alajuela area...we might have time for 1 final day-trip from that area...Poas volcano??? Not sure where...

Melissa, you might check out Xandari as a choice, or have you already done the Peace Lodge? You sound like you might like some pampering to pair with your no blow dryer portion of the trip! We've done both Poas and the Doka Coffee tour at the end of a vacation, and those are good choices. Hit Poas early for best chance to avoid fog/clouds.
