CR in September/October?
Sorry for another Honeymoon question, but I couldn't find a specific anwser... I am looking for a place to go on my honeymoon from Sept27-Oct4. This seems to be the worst time to do anything in the caribbean it being hurricane season and the rainy season in CR, but is there a region that might be ok? or maybe a different suggestion all together? My fiance and I are both graduate students so we do need to keep to a budget so if anyone knows of a good all-inclusive resort that could keep the total price of the trip (including airfair) around $3,000 that would be great! Thanks!!!

Don't worry about the weather in CR, there is really no bad time to visit. If you wish, stick to the driest part of the country, the Guanacaste area on the northeast Pacific coast. Plenty to see and do there. Congratulations, good luck and have fun!

My husband and I spent our anniversary in CR last Sept. and the weather was great. We had rain storms almost every night, but the days were gorgeous! We stayed in Playa Grande/Tamarindo area and Nosara, all up in the Pacific Northwest region. You'll absolutely love Costa Rica and it's very affordable, especially during the off-season.

Greetings and congratualtins, Avysedai! For an all-incusive inthe Guanacaste region, check out Paradisus Playa Conchal. Beachdestinations.com has a complete one week package for about $2100 on your dates!! See Tripadvisor.com for feedback on that or any other hotel you're considering. Depending on where you're flying from, that might be "do-able" in your budget (you could fly into Liberia--LIR airport) tho' you have to also budget for tours, excursions, etc, if you want to do those.
Another idea if you don't mind traveling to a few different places while there, is to check out www.costaricapackage.com. It's about $2,000 per couple for a nine day trip, which includes many meals, a rental car, hotels, and some park entrance fees, but they could, i'm sure, arrange a wonderful trip for you for seven days. Email from the site and you will get a letter from Neta, the owner of one of the hotels in the package. She's an absolute delight to write to! Happy researching and planning!
