Costa Rica Hotels in Manuel Antonio

I recently canceled reservations at CostaVerde due to the absence of cable tv and ac. I am looking for a nice hotel in the $150 range, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

What time of year are you traveling? That will affect hotel rates quite a bit.

We stayed at Costa Verde in November. Our room had A/C and TV. Costa Verde II, the adult only building, has no A/C or TV.

It's a really lovely place, CV II has wonderful views & great breezes, much nicer than tv or ac imho. Jan 7th is still a busy time of year, so if they claim CV is full they surely are, as the CV & CV II rates are the same. Maybe look into Villa Nicolas or La Posada, no idea if they have a/c or tv though.

Dear unknown:

November was off season, and they were still very full. I was reluctant to pass up the A/C, plus DH would be lost with out TV. Good luck.

Bellaboo, without injecting your preferences there might be a reason why someone else would request something you wouldn't

Sorry to offend,(tounge in cheek doesn't come off well here) CV is a great place to stay & a shame you'd miss out. So little time is usually spent in the rooms and we've never had to use the AC, only ever used the ceiling fans.

Normally I would agree with you wholeheartedly and wish that I could take advantage of the facility, it looks great. One of the reasons for going to CR is to have dental work performed, following, I may not be up for the usuall activities, ergo the request for tv. Not at all offended. Thanks for your input

Just got back from Costa verde. We stayed in a studio plus (air and TV. ) We used the air only to dry our our wet clothes. Magnificent views from our balcony overlooking the ocean. My kids (23 and 26) said it was the best place they ever stayed. Costa Verde II is too far away from the main entrance and has no air.
I highly recommend this hotel!!!

I acquiesced and was able to re-establish my original reservations. After viewing the alternatives, and the associated costs and particulary all the favorable responses about Costa Verde, with or without tv and ac, the choice was obvious. I'm sure we will enjoy the stay. Thank you all for your input.

If you're still interested, you might check out Mango Moon; we had ac and tv in our room. Did not watch the tv, but we were very grateful for the ac; MA was extremely hot and humid when we were there.

Mangoe Moon is a really sweet, quiet, romantic spot.....if you need a tranquil spot to recover it's a good choice also.

Costa Verde is great. Views from Anaconda are amazing, lots of wildlife, the little pool up in the A area is the sweetest and never crowded.
