costa rica- hotel advice- MA
Hello,
I'm planning my first trip to costa rica for this august. I need recommendations for a nice hotel for my husband and I in Manuel Antonio- this will be where we "splurge" on a more upscale hotel, but don't want to feel like we could be in any hotel, anywhere. I have looked into Buena Vista Villas, it feels as if it may be less "costa rican" in feel then some of the other places. thoughts?
thanks!

Costa Ricans generally don't live in upscale hotels, so its hard to judge authenticity. Si Como No is very pleasant, blends very well with the forest, has excellent views, and the restaurants are superb, but not fussy. It is definitely upscale as to price (but not outrageously expensive). Look over the Trip Advisor reviews. Just a note about the splurge. Because Si Como No costs 3 to 4 times what a budget hotel in other parts of the country costs, some of the reviewers who stay at Si Como No as a splurge have greater expectations than any hotel can meet. This is evident in the reviews. We would feel uncomfortable in anything much more upscale than Si Come No, yet we feel very comfortable, well cared for, and in the mdst of incredible beauty with wildlife to match.
