Costa Rica 2008 - a delayed trip report
A Journey Into The Land of Volcanoes, Frogs and Pura Vida.
Here are some facts related to our trip and photo album.
We have traveled in CR between August 1st and August 28th, 2008. A family of three, with previous experiences in self-driving in foreign countries. All accommodations and rental car were pre-booked directly with owners.
We used rental car for 2 weeks. Navigation is easy (we have not used GPS navigation), when in doubt always received directons from helpful locals. For transport from San Jose to Sarapiqui we used private driver (thank you, Luis), from Moin to Puerto Viejo shuttle bus (not very comfortable solution) and from Puerto Viejo to San Jose regular bus (much better then expected). We walked a lot. And using a few Spanish words we knew a lot - people really likes us "torturing" their language.
The photo equipment used: Nikon D60, Nikon 18-55 mm, Nikon 70-300 mm, monopod (not very useful), a LOT of memory cards.
Best thing in Costa Rica: Ticas and Ticos
Best advice for Costa Rica: hire a private guide
The usual trip report would be too long; thus we have tried our luck with Web Photo Album. It is our first attempt.
All comments are welcommed and will be appreciated.

I loved your travelogue and you have some excellent photos of the frogs, birds and volcano! With four weeks, you were able to see so much of the country, really experienced the natural beauty and local people.
Your photos are just lovely and makes me wish I was returning this year instead of next! Thanks for sharing.
