Colonial (Central) Mexico during the holidays
We're planning a trip through central Mexico from 24 December through early January. I'd love to hear if you know of any travel issues we may encounter due to the holidays - bus schedules changing, etc - or will it be business as usual on most days?
Thanks very much!

There will probably still be rudimentary services, but I would expect many things to be closed, fewer buses running etc. Also, keep in mind that the Christmas holidays run until Epiphany (January 6), known in Mexico as los Reyes Magos.
Have fun!

At that time I year the only place I have been to is Oaxaca City. I have been there multiple times. Everything was open as normal and buses running as normal. The City was very crowded until, as noted above, El Dia de los Tres Reyes- Jan 6. As you said central Mexico you might not be going this far south. If Oaxaca is included in you plans it will be very busy and reservations in advance are advised.
