Classical music performances in Buenos Aires - finding and booking?
I want to book at least a couple classical music concerts in April. I must be missing the right sites to find tickets. Both small and large venues are of interest.
Any suggestions welcome.

Law School
We went every weekend to the Law school concerts.. the Colon Orchestra as well as wonderful guests perform.
I don't have the 2009 series but you can get it when you go to the websites.

Scarlett, thanks for those links. They look very interesting and I hope something is available when I get there, but I haven't been able to locate anything yet.
Biblioteca National has listings in 2008, but not a single date works in 2009.
The law school offerings looks very interesting, but it also has no 2009 listings.
For La Scala, I looked on the abril link here, but got diciembre listings:
http://www.lascala.org.ar/programacion.htm
Changing to abril manually, I get 2008 listings:
http://www.lascala.org.ar/abril.htm
The same sort of thing has been happening with all the searches I do, which is making me wonder what is going on. I still haven't located any events for April 2009. Am I just having a run of bad luck?
BA Travel Guide did work for showing me Juventus Lyrica performances, but sadly the April 2009 dates do not coincide with mine.

Contact Marcelo, my professional and certificated tour guide who truly enhanced my visit in all ways when I visited Buenos Aires in 2007. He went above and beyond the norm as a guide, assisting me in many areas.
He also got opera tickets for a friend of mine who was there after I'd returned to the States.
His email address is [email protected]; his web address is www.ciceroneba.com.ar. I would give you his cell phone number, but unfortunately I cannot find his business card. After all it's been two years. -

Most of the cultural activities in Buenos Aires are on a summer recess and the sites are not being updated, so you won't find much information now. The activities will resume in March and I'm sure all the sites will be updated by then, so keep checking. Those are all very good suggestions.

Yes, I was going to post what Bea said.. I realized that this month especially .. Everyone is on vacation..
La Scala is tiny, so for their performances, definitely book ahead..
The Law School and the Biblioteca are free.
The room where you listen to music at the Law School is immense and you just get there about half an hour before "show" time and wait in line.. the seats are comfortable, the audience is sooo quiet and respectful and I am so much looking forward to going again !
The Biblioteca has a smaller but very modern new music room .. we loved what we saw there.. my son was visiting and told us he wanted to hear Klezmer.. they were having a Klezmer Festival lol and so we went.
I can't tell you how fun it was ... and the audience ! clapping and practically singing along..
Porteños are great music lovers.. you will notice when you are here, wherever you go, you will hear great music..
